Weekly Parent News Round-up

I thought it would be fun to try this, especially since there are so many items this week worth commenting on. These are taken from BabyCenter/ParentCenter's news page:

Researcher shows Sponge Bob really does make kids dumber - Enough said.

Breastfeeding mothers protect themselves and their babies more aggressively - That would explain a few things. Don't mess with a nursing mom!

US ranks 41st in newborn survival - There is nothing funny about this. Cuba and Malaysia now have better newborn survival rates than we do. The study says that it is not that the US is getting worse - we're just not getting any better while everyone else is. Could this have anything to do with doctors unwilling to change their ways?

Boys' relationships with their moms have a big impact on their choices - Unfortunately it doesn't provide a lot of information, but this may be of interest to moms of boys.
